To increase demand and access to agricultural inputs by smallholder farmers
To improve the quality of agricultural inputs in the country in collaboration with MAAIF and other stakeholders

Improve access to agro-inputs to aBi implementing partners and improve the business environment for agro-dealers and stockists who sell inputs to coffee, maize, oilseeds, pulses, and horticultural value chain farmers
Project Results
Sensitized at least 200,000 farmers on the use of improved inputs, quality assurance, and other issues pertaining to the agro-inputs sector through radio programs, posters, and other promotional/sensitization efforts.
Sensitized 3,000 agro-dealers on the current government regulations governing the agro-inputs sector and disseminated 3,000 copies of the sector Acts (Agricultural chemical control Act 2006, The seed & Plant Act 2006, NDA Act, The Attendant regulations and registration processes) and the agro dealer code of conduct.
Participated in at least 20 agricultural shows/exhibitions to sensitize stakeholders on UNADA’s role and mandate in the agro-inputs sector
Facilitated the inspection of 400 agro dealers’ premises by MAAIF for compliance with the licensing requirements
Improved agro-dealer business ethics through dissemination and education of agro-dealers on the UNADA’s “Agro-dealer Code of Conduct”. · Facilitated 600 agro-dealers to be licensed and registered with the regulatory authority – Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF).
Trained at least 300 agro-dealers in business management and business skills. · Facilitated review and update of the safe use training curriculum by MAAIF and Makerere University.
Trained at least 400 agro-dealers in the Safe use and handling of agro-chemicals
Trained 500 agro-input dealers trained in product knowledge and quality management
